How do you go from a degree in Chemistry to being a chocolate expert, educator and writer? That’s the question I answered as a presenter, panelist and alumni mentor at these UBC events focused on career paths with a science degree.

This evening featured tastings and stories of fine chocolate makers in Europe and North America.
- July 11, 2010: Seattle Luxury Chocolate Salon
I was on the awards tasting panel for this chocolate salon in Seattle, WA.
- May 29-30, 2010:B.C. Chefs Association Chocolate Competition and B.C. Chefs Association Culinary Salon Competition
It was an honour to judge the chocolate and salon competitions as part of EAT! Vancouver. The chocolate competition featured sculptures, bonbons and plated desserts, while the salon featured vegetable carvings, buffets, hors d’oeuvres, and multi-course plated meals.
- May 2010: Chocolate 201: Artisan chocolate tasting classes
A four-part master class in artisan chocolate tasting. Presented with Xoxolat and featuring Von Albrecht & Association scotch. More about Chocolate 201 here.
